Research on the dynamic characteristics of double disc spring supported vibration screen

Disc spring is an important element in coal preparation vibration screen and can effectively reduce the excitation force and improve the screening performance of vibration screen. The double disc spring supported system is designed and applied to an elliptical vibration screen to further improve the corresponding performance. The natural frequency, acceleration response, exciting force, fatigue life, energy consumption, and trajectory of elliptical vibration screen with the double disc spring supported system are compared with that of spiral spring and crank vibration screen. It is found that only the vibrational direction of double disc spring supported vibration screen at the first natural frequency is consistent with the working direction of the vibration screen. Meanwhile, a minimum variation of the acceleration response is found in double disc spring supported screen at the stable working state, indicating that the double disc spring supported screen has the highest working stability. Moreover, it is found that the double disc spring supported vibration screen needs the lowest excitation force under the same amplitude while exhibits the longest fatigue life, indicating the higher reliability and lower energy consumption. Furthermore, the motion trajectory of the double disc spring supported vibration screen is closest to the ideal ellipse, effectively enhancing screening efficiency. The above researches provide important reference for structural optimization and performance improvement of large-scale coal preparation vibration screen.
