Oxygen insulation for thermal barrier ceramics materials (5RE 0.2 )TaO 4
High oxygen ion conductivity is one of the primary reasons for thermal barrier coating failure. Rare-earth tantalates is a highly promising class of TBC materials, this study investigates the oxygen insulation properties of (5RE 0.2 )TaO 4 based on previous work. Results demonstrate that (5RE 0.2 )TaO 4 was successfully synthesized via the solid-state method, and the oxygen ion conductivity of (5RE 0.2 )TaO 4 is reduced about five orders of magnitude in comparison to that of 8YSZ.
