Existence vs Claim ("I"): A New Frame for the Problem of Agency — Agency Mismatch Framework v1.0
Title:Existence vs Claim ("I"): A New Frame for the Problem of Agency — Agency Mismatch Framework v1.0 Authors:Agyat AgyaniORCID: 0009-0000-8083-0685Independent Researcher and Philosopher Publication Date: 2026-06-12Version: 1.0Language: English (original Hindi version also included)License: CC BY 4.0 Description / Abstract:This work proposes the "Existence vs Claim" model, an experiential theory of agency that reframes human suffering, conflict, and hypocrisy not as products of ignorance alone, but as the result of a proportional mismatch: the individual's claim ("I") exceeds their actual contribution, control, and understanding within the larger Order of Existence. The model treats Existence as a vast, multi-layered order (physical, biological, psychological, social, subtle) and the individual as its limited yet conscious node. Using a simplified ratio of 99:1 (Order:Individual), it introduces the concept of Claim Intensity. When Claim Intensity remains near 1, balance prevails. When it inflates to 30, 50, or 100, a Mismatch occurs, leading to suffering at personal, social, and religious levels. The framework is deliberately neutral — it does not attempt to prove or disprove God, soul, or moksha. Instead, it offers a shared analytical language for spirituality, psychology, and social science. It is presented as an Open Framework for testing, critique, and development. The central inquiry is not "What is truth?" but: "Is my claim proportional to my real contribution, control, and understanding?"
