The Parabola of Divergence: A Three-Dimensional Geometric Cartography of the Frontiers Between Human Typicality and the Autism Spectrum
AbstractThis theoretical essay proposes an epistemological review of the boundaries between neurotypicality and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), questioning the limits of the linear and descriptive metrics of the DSM-5-TR. The objective is to present the Parabolic Model of Phenotypic Continuity, a geometric formulation based on the analogy with spectral emittance from quantum mechanics, expanded into a three-dimensional topological space, with due reservations regarding a mere theoretical-conceptual transposition. The vertex of the curve, termed Point Zero, represents the exact threshold of the Broad Autism Phenotype (BAP) and the origin of the Z-axis of functionality and agency. The core of the proposal lies in demonstrating an illusory symmetry on the axis of behavioral intensity, where Support Level 1 (divergent neurodevelopment, on the right) and Level -1 (compromised typicality due to socio-environmental factors, on the left) are situated at the same ordinal height of emittance, despite inhabiting completely distinct ontological wavelengths and Z-axis autonomy coordinates. The methodology adopts a conceptual and transdisciplinary theoretical-critical essay approach. It concludes that the approximation of these points at the vertex demands high-level clinical expertise and profound experience, characterizing simplistic diagnostic errors in this zone as technical and biopolitical negligence.
