Dark Matter as a Coherent Vacuum Phase: Solving the Cusp‑Core Problem and Null Detection Results
We propose that dark matter is not a particle but a coherent phase of the quantum vacuum activated when the local gravitational acceleration falls below a0≈1.2×10−10 m/s2a0≈1.2×10−10m/s2. This “Gravity-Induced Coherence” (GIC) modifies the Poisson equation by adding a constant source term ΛGICΛGIC in low-acceleration regions. Using spherically symmetric simulations of dwarf galaxies NGC~6822 and Draco, and a baryonic model for the Milky Way, we show that GIC reproduces their flat rotation curves and cored density profiles without dark matter particles. GIC predicts a null signal in all direct-detection experiments, consistent with the latest XENONnT and LUX-ZEPLIN limits. We propose a space-based torsion balance that can detect the predicted constant acceleration offset δa=ΛGICL≈5×10−18 m/s2δa=ΛGICL≈5×10−18m/s2, and continuous gravitational waves at kHz frequencies from black hole superradiance. A test on the Coma cluster shows the need for a scale-dependent extension. The theory is falsifiable.
