Synthesis of Ester-Containing Polycyclic Compounds via Photocatalyzed Alkoxycarbonylation/Dicyclization of 4-Aza-1,7-dienes

We report a concise and efficient strategy to achieve the photocatalyzed alkoxycarbonylation/dicyclization of 4-aza-1,7-dienes for the synthesis of various ester-containing N -polycyclic compounds under metal-free conditions. This reaction uses various alcohol-derived alkyl chlorooxoacetates as the corresponding alkoxycarbonyl radical sources, enabling the formation of diverse carboxylic esters. More importantly, this method provides an environmentally friendly route for the incorporation of ester groups into N -polycyclic compounds.

Abstract

We report a concise and efficient strategy to achieve the photocatalyzed alkoxycarbonylation/dicyclization of 4-aza-1,7-dienes for the synthesis of various ester-containing N -polycyclic compounds under metal-free conditions. This reaction uses various alcohol-derived alkyl chlorooxoacetates as the corresponding alkoxycarbonyl radical sources, enabling the formation of diverse carboxylic esters. More importantly, this method provides an environmentally friendly route for the incorporation of ester groups into N -polycyclic compounds.
