« Elles sont vachement oubliées » : A Comparative Analysis Between North Carolina and Southern French Public School Sex Ed Programs
This thesis examines the role of religion in sex ed curriculum, pedagogy, and student takeaways. I compare these factors in the setting of public high schools in North Carolina and public middle schools (collèges) in Southern France. The different religious/secular contexts in North Carolina and Southern France do not play a particularly important role in this comparison, rather there are implicit references to religion, characterized largely by traditional family-values encouraged by Christianity, present in both regions despite differences in seemingly secular education.
