Rotating Schwarzschild type black hole in Lyra manifold
In a recent study, Cuzinatto et al. developed a scalartensor formulation of gravity in the setting of a torsion-free, metric-compatible Lyra manifold and obtained a static, spherically symmetric solution within the framework of Lyra scalartensor gravity. This solution represents a Schwarzschild type line element in Lyra manifold. In this work, a rotating black hole solution within Lyra geometry is generated through the NewmanJanis prescription, avoiding the need to explicitly integrate Einsteins field equations. This approach leads to a novel class of space-time that naturally fits into the Lyra-modified gravitational framework. We then carry out a comprehensive analysis of the resulting black hole to uncover its key physical and geometric characteristics. In particular, the behavior of test particle trajectories is examined to determine the shape and properties of the black hole shadow, highlighting the role of the Lyra parameter in shaping potential observational features. Our results offer new perspectives on Lyra gravity and its possible implications in astrophysical environments.
