Synergistic Optical Strategies for Enhanced Perovskite Photocatalytic Activity

ABSTRACT Photocatalysis is a key pathway for solar‐to‐chemical conversion, enabling the production of sustainable fuels and value‐added chemicals. Halide perovskites have attracted increasing attention as photocatalysts or photoactive components due to their strong visible‐light absorption, composition‐tunable bandgaps, and favorable optoelectronic properties. However, practical performance is often limited by optical losses, charge recombination, and inefficient interfacial charge transfer. This review addresses these bottlenecks from an optics‐driven perspective and organizes recent advances into four interconnected design principles: electronic structure engineering, interfacial design for photocarrier separation and band alignment, structural optical and spin‐selective engineering, and plasmonic metal–semiconductor synergy. By connecting photon management with charge kinetics and interfacial reactivity, this review provides practical design principles and outlines key directions toward efficient, selective, and stable perovskite photocatalysis for CO 2 reduction.
