First contribution to the Embolemidae and Sclerogibbidae (Hymenoptera: Chrysidoidea) of Saudi Arabia, with new records from Egypt and Jordan

In the present study, the families Embolemidae and Sclerogibbidae are recorded for the first time in the fauna of Saudi Arabia. They are represented by six species: Embolemus harteni Olmi (Embolemidae), Sclerogibba berlandi Benoit, S. magrettii (Kieffer), S. rossi Olmi, S. talpiformis Benoit, and S. vagabunda (Bridwell) (Sclerogibbidae). Furthermore, two species are newly recorded from Egypt (S. rossi), and Jordan (S. magrettii). Illustrated diagnoses are provided for each of the species studied, along with a faunistic list. An identification key to the Saudi Arabian Embolemus and Sclerogibba species is also provided, along with distribution maps of the species of both genera in the Arabian Peninsula.
