Repetition and Return in Human Psychic Processing

This technical note develops a typed account of repetition and return within the Human Psychic Processing / Psychological Architecture branch of GTCS. The construction begins from exact provenance-bearing records produced by already established human-processing or upstream architectures. These records are placed at declared observation tokens and compared through a model-specific recurrence specification that states what feature, key, status, or composite profile is being matched and how the ordered observation sequence is to satisfy the recurrence criterion. Repetition is represented by a partial Boolean assessment, Rep. A positive repetition application means only that the declared ordered occurrence sequence satisfies the declared recurrence specification under the selected recurrence context. Undefinedness remains distinct from a completed negative result. Return is assessed separately over an already positive repetition application. The partial relation Ret qualifies recurrence under an additional human-processing return criterion, return context, and optional aligned conditioning profile. Positive repetition does not entail positive return, and positive return does not establish significance, unresolvedness, protection, rigidity, defense, persistence, transformation preparation, or pathology. Observation order is deliberately kept distinct from persistence. Several occurrences at ordered tokens do not establish continuous activity between them, sustained attention, or a persistent state. Repetition and return are also kept distinct from trajectory-dependent regulation. History-bearing recurrence is insufficient for a TDR claim unless the stronger controlled historical-sensitivity conditions of the trajectory architecture are independently satisfied. Optional regulatory-profile descriptors may combine typed source records while preserving each component’s exact owner, context, definedness, and provenance. Such profiles are not common scalar regulatory states and do not make heterogeneous components commensurable. The resulting construction provides a narrow human recurrence layer while preserving the independence of focal attention, symbolic regulation, affect-like modulation, significance, overload, identity, structural transformation, conflict, avoidance, defense, and later psychological interpretations.
