Comparative Study on Color‐Coated Pate Enterprises Xylene Exposure Assessment by the Advanced REACH Tool and TREXMO+ in China

ABSTRACT Xylene presents considerable health hazards in industrial coating procedures. Precise evaluation of employee exposure is essential for risk management. This research evaluated the Advanced REACH Tool (ART) and TREXMO+ models by analyzing xylene exposure in 10 color‐coated plate manufacturing facilities in China. Measurements were obtained in the prime coating, paint correcting, and finish coating segments and compared with model outputs. The 75th percentile predictions from both models were more precise for prime coating and finish coating, however the 50th percentile was superior for paint correcting. TREXMO+ demonstrated superior accuracy in paint correcting and finish coating, whereas ART predictions more consistently matched measured values across several organizations. ART is optimal for prime coating exposure evaluations, whereas TREXMO+ is more appropriate for paint correcting and final coating applications. These findings inform the precise selection of models for assessing industrial exposure.
