Effects of topographically induced vorticity and density stratification on suspended particulate matter transport in the vicinity of a submerged reef
• Field surveys and 3D CFD simulations constrained SPM transport around the asymmetric reef. • Strong tidal flow steep reef topography generates vorticity-driven clustering and pycnocline-induced trapping. • Particle size and density govern vertical soring and cross-pyconoline tansport.
