Accidental Intracranial Small Bore Feeding Tube Insertion
A middle-aged male presented to the emergency department for small-bore feeding tube (SBFT) complications. He had a history of stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma with multiple surgical resections including the maxillary sinus and cribriform plate with a pericranial flap. His SBFT was placed 2 months prior by otolaryngology in the operating room and presented to the ED after his SBFT was unable to be flushed at home. In the ED, the SBFT was removed and replaced through the left naris. Radiographs were obtained to confirm placement.
