Light as an Algebraic Interface: An Interpretive Note on the C-Real Form of the QED Current

In standard quantum electrodynamics, light is described by a $U(1)$ gauge field coupled to the Dirac vector current. This interpretive note starts from a simple algebraic observation: when the Dirac field is written in a C-real basis, the electromagnetic vector current is represented as an off-diagonal bilinear between two charge-conjugation components. This rewriting does not modify standard QED and does not constitute a new derivation of electrodynamics; rather, it provides formal support for the structural reading developed here. In this reading, the C-even sector is associated with the carrier-level representation of mass-energy, whereas local electromagnetic readout belongs to the C-odd mixing channel. Light may therefore be interpreted not as an ontologically independent object, but as a propagating excitation of the gauge interface connecting these components. The Schwinger limit is also discussed as the field scale at which the electric work over one reduced Compton wavelength reaches the rest-energy scale. In the C-parity reading, this standard relation is understood as the scale at which C-odd electromagnetic stress across one reduced Compton length reaches the characteristic energy scale of the C-even carrier.
