Dodecagraphy - A structured and intuitive nomenclature system for duodecimal numeration
Dodecagraphy is a proposed linguistic and symbolic system designed to represent numbers and mathematical operations in a duodecimal base. The system introduces rules of nomenclature, symbols and structural principles aimed at facilitating the understanding, reading and practical use of the base-12 system. This work explores conceptual foundations, visual representation, the formation of numerical names and operational examples, prioritising clarity, regularity and ease of learning. Originally developed in Spanish under the name “Dodecagrafía”, this work presents the English adaptation of the system, redesigned to preserve the same structural principles while incorporating phonetic and cultural conventions more natural to English speakers. This work corresponds to the first public version 1.0 of the system and is open to comments, discussion and future revisions.
