Field application of hydrogen peroxide to prevent the spread of Prymnesium parvum to the Oder River: efficacy and ecological safety assessment
• Hydrogen peroxide effectively eradicated Prymnesium parvum and hampered its spread. • A dose in the range of 10–15 mg H 2 O 2 /L eliminated 90–99 % of P. parvum cells. • Acceptable effects on non-target organisms support the use of H 2 O 2 to reduce risk of bloom dispersal.
