Operational and Inferential Challenges in Legal AI Systems
Artificial intelligence is rapidly expanding across legal environments, particularly as a productivity-oriented infrastructure supporting drafting, legal research, summarization, and document analysis. This paper examines some of the operational, inferential, and institutional challenges emerging from the growing integration of AI systems within legally sensitive reasoning environments, with particular attention to reasoning reliability, procedural accountability, and inferential reconstructability. The analysis focuses on the distinction between linguistic fluency and juridical reasoning while exploring the structural limitations of current AI-assisted legal systems in institutionally sensitive contexts.
