A Novel Chiral Silver-Gold Alloy Nanoparticle System Functionalized with PEGylated Curcumin for Targeted Therapy of Alzheimer's Disease
This invention disclosure presents a novel core-shell nanostructure for targeted therapy of Alzheimer's disease. The system features a 26 nm bimetallic silver-gold (Ag-Au) alloy nanoparticle core with an engineered left-handed chiral surface for high stereospecific affinity to amyloid-β (Aβ42) fibrils. Curcumin molecules are covalently pre-conjugated to mPEG-COOH polymers (MW 2000 Da) before nanoparticle assembly to enhance stability, prevent protein corona formation, and enable zero-order controlled release.
