Thermal and Flow Characteristics of Two-Phase Ellis Fluid in a Symmetric Wavy Channel: Applications to Biomedical Systems

Background: This study examines the heat transfer analysis in the biphase flow of Ellis's fluid model within the sinusoidal wavy horizontal symmetric channel. Two phase model is developed with the contribution of the stress tensor of Ellis's fluid model to discuss the two-phase peristaltic motion under the influence of a uniform heat source. Methodology: The fluid and particle phase model are simplified under the assumptions of long wavelength and low-Reynolds number and reduced the problem in a simple form. The exact solution is produced for velocity and temperature distribution by using the MATHEMATICA 14.2. Outcomes: The outcomes of the present study revealed that the first and second Ellis fluid parameters reduced the velocity profiles in the core region of the channel. The thermal profile has an inverse relation with the first and second Ellis's fluid parameters. The suspension of particles and heat source parameter enhance the heat transfer rate up to 29% and 38%, respectively for two consecutive successive values. Further, the fluid phase velocity is lesser than the particle phase velocity. Significance of the problem: The present study can be used to improve the blood flow within the blood vessels. The present study also provides the performance of two-phase fluid not only implications for refining the efficiency of drug delivery but also for optimizing the design of relevant biomedical devices.
