Techno-economic and environmental assessment of pellet production from urban pruning residues of Jacaranda mimosifolia
• Urban pruning residues from Jacaranda mimosifolia were evaluated as feedstock for pellet production. • A complete techno-economic assessment of the biomass-to-pellet supply chain was performed. • Pellet production cost was estimated at 77.5 €·t −1 , ensuring high economic profitability. • Net CO 2 emissions were reduced by approximately 915 kg CO 2 ·t −1 compared to natural gas. • Pellets showed suitable physical quality, meeting ENplus A2–B standards.
