Influence of the MIT Bag Model on Stellar Configurations in Quadratic Non-Metricity Theory

In this paper, we investigate static anisotropic compact stars in the context of f(Q) gravity, where Q denotes non-metricity, which is a modified theory of gravity in which spacetime deformations are explained through non-metricity rather than curvature or torsion. We adopt a quadratic f(Q) model for our analysis. To construct our model, we adopt the MIT bag model equation of state, which enables us to derive an analytical solution and we use the TolmanDurgapal V metric as the seed solution. To examine the physical characteristics of two realistic compact star candidates, 4U 1538-52 and SAX J 178.9-2021, we perform a graphical analysis of several key properties, including energy density, radial and tangential pressures, their gradi- ents, the anisotropy factor, the equation of state parameter, energy conditions and mass function. Finally, we assess the stability of the model using various criteria. The results indicate that the proposed model is physically stable, viable and consistent with observational constraints.
