Temporal patterns of dominance in a hummingbird assemblage
This repository contains the R script and input data used to analyze dominance hierarchies among hummingbird species at a feeding station across three temporal scales (month, day, and hour). Dominance rankings were estimated using Bradley-Terry models. Ranking stability was assessed through pairwise Spearman rank correlations and Jaccard similarity indices. Hierarchical structure was quantified using probabilistic triangle transitivity (TTri). Additional analyses examined the relationship between dominance scores, body mass, and feeder visitation frequency. The script produces all tables and figures reported in the associated publication, including directed dominance network visualizations and species-level dynamics plots. Input files: domtemp_master.xlsx (agonistic interaction records) and vismass_master.xlsx (feeder visits and body mass per species). Software: R. Required packages: readxl, dplyr, tidyr, stringr, purrr, ggplot2, networkTricks, igraph, scales, car.
