Geometría Radial como Base del Espacio Físico: Una Hipótesis sobre la Reducción Dimensional desde el Origen
This paper introduces the Radial Unitary Geometry (RUG) Hypothesis, proposing that the fundamental structure of physical space may be described by a single scalar radial variable, rho >= 0, rather than the conventional system of three Cartesian axes with positive and negative signs. Under this hypothesis, the eight octants of three-dimensional space do not constitute independent dimensions, but rather emergent orientation regions within a unique radial structure emanating from an origin. The manuscript presents the mathematical formalization in spherical coordinates, compares the proposal with dimensional reduction in quantum gravity, the holographic principle, Partanen's effective-dimension approach, and the 2026 Nomura-Ugajin result on one-dimensional Hilbert structure in closed quantum gravity. Three testable predictions are proposed: suppression of the CMB quadrupole as a consequence of radial fundamental structure, convergence of spectral dimension toward 1 rather than 2 at the Planck scale, and radial dispersion signatures in gravitational-wave propagation potentially detectable by LISA. Current limitations and future derivation needs are explicitly discussed.
