P59: CCEGA Black Stars as Perfect Gravitational Wave Reflectors — Evanescent Interior and Frequency Cutoff

We show that CCEGA black stars are perfect gravitational wave reflectors (R_eff = 1) for merger-frequency waves. The interior is evanescent for f < f_cut(M) because the Regge-Wheeler potential barrier at the ρ_c surface prevents wave penetration. This establishes the physical mechanism for GW echoes in CCEGA. The spectral cutoff f_cut(M) ≈ 2,000–8,000 Hz decreases monotonically with mass, providing a mass-dependent reflection signature developed further in P61.

Abstract

We show that CCEGA black stars are perfect gravitational wave reflectors (R_eff = 1) for merger-frequency waves. The interior is evanescent for f < f_cut(M) because the Regge-Wheeler potential barrier at the ρ_c surface prevents wave penetration. This establishes the physical mechanism for GW echoes in CCEGA. The spectral cutoff f_cut(M) ≈ 2,000–8,000 Hz decreases monotonically with mass, providing a mass-dependent reflection signature developed further in P61.
