GeoCells: An Applied Ontology Token for Grounding Spatial Reasoning

GeoCells are proposed as deterministic, reference-addressable information tokens for grounding spatial reasoning. Rather than treating spatial inference as self-sufficient, the paper argues that spatial claims require explicit reference conditions: source, scope, resolution, projection, and derivation. Using terrain adjacency and downhill direction as a worked example, the paper shows how GeoCells externalize spatial grounding into inspectable artifacts. GeoCells are framed in BFO-compatible terms as Information Content Entities whose content denotes bounded spatial regions under declared reference conditions. The contribution is not a new geometric model, but an ontology-aligned reference token for making spatial reasoning more auditable, reproducible, and epistemically stable.
