Cal-Adapt: Analytics Engine | Data

Data documentation for the Cal-Adapt: Analytics Engine, a cloud-based climate data platform developed for California's energy sector. This document describes the climate datasets available on the Analytics Engine, including dynamically downscaled WRF and statistically downscaled LOCA2-Hybrid data derived from CMIP6 models, as well as derived variables, historical observational datasets, and metadata standards. It also covers methods for accessing and downloading data, including programmatic access via climakitae, direct S3 access, and the Analytics Engine JupyterHub. Developed in support of California's Fifth Climate Change Assessment and funded by the California Energy Commission through the Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) Program (Grants EPC-20-007 and EPC-23-024). This document is living and may be updated as new datasets and access methods become available. The Analytics Engine website (analytics.cal-adapt.org) is the primary source for the most current information on data availability and access.
