Spatial Dignity: Toward a Structural Definition of Environmental Participation Continuity

This paper proposes Spatial Dignity as a structural concept distinct from aesthetic luxury or branding. Spatial Dignity is defined as the degree to which a space preserves existence continuity, nervous system stability, and non-forced presence. Drawing on observations across luxury retail, shrines, galleries, salons, hospitality environments, and AI interaction systems, the paper argues that contemporary spaces increasingly undermine their own dignity through participation pressure, evaluation persistence, and optimization demands. The paper situates Spatial Dignity within Maura Theory as a structural condition inversely related to ambient participation friction (F_field), and proposes quiet infrastructure as a foundational requirement for sustainable human participation in contemporary environments.
