Structurally constrained hybrid modeling for cross-year prediction and mechanistic interpretation of marine biofouling evolution
• Long-term shallow-sea immersion experiments (2019-2024) provided cross-year biofouling data. • A Fouling Severity Index (FSI) provided a stable prediction target. • A structurally constrained evolutionary regression model enabled robust cross-year prediction. • Stage-wise analysis revealed stage-dependent biofouling responses to environmental drivers.
