Linguacultural features of translating uzbek newspaper headlines into English
This article explores the intricate linguacultural features embedded within Uzbek newspaper headlines and the specific challenges they pose during translation into English. It investigates how the condensed, attention-grabbing nature of headlines, coupled with their inherent cultural references, necessitates nuanced translation strategies. Through an analysis of various examples, the study identifies common linguistic structures, idiomatic expressions, and pragmatic functions that require careful consideration. The findings underscore the importance of employing techniques such as domestication, foreignization, or compensation to ensure both semantic accuracy and the preservation of the original communicative intent. Ultimately, the research emphasizes that effective translation of such texts demands a profound understanding of both source and target linguacultures to achieve equivalent impact and informativeness for the English-speaking audience.
