Photons, Rulers and Shortest Paths: The Natural Philosophy of Time Field Theory

This paper presents the natural philosophical foundation of Time Field Theory (TFT). It systematically clarifies that time is the fundamental metrological benchmark rather than a measured quantity. Photons are interpreted as messengers of local time standards. Fermat’s principle is derived as a necessary condition for the self-consistency of time measurement. The apple-fall analogy is used to unify three paradigms: Newtonian force, Einsteinian geometric spacetime, and TFT time-flow gradient. TFT unifies gravity, optics, and quantum path intuition within a single self-consistent time-field framework.

Abstract

This paper presents the natural philosophical foundation of Time Field Theory (TFT). It systematically clarifies that time is the fundamental metrological benchmark rather than a measured quantity. Photons are interpreted as messengers of local time standards. Fermat’s principle is derived as a necessary condition for the self-consistency of time measurement. The apple-fall analogy is used to unify three paradigms: Newtonian force, Einsteinian geometric spacetime, and TFT time-flow gradient. TFT unifies gravity, optics, and quantum path intuition within a single self-consistent time-field framework.
