Honeycomb‐Like Mucinous Carcinoma of the Pancreas, Mimicking Serous Cystadenoma
Mucinous carcinoma of the pancreas has been rarely documented. Consequently, studies on imaging criteria for distinguishing mucinous carcinoma from other pancreatic tumors remain insufficient. Herein, we report a resected case of mucinous carcinoma of the pancreas, including correlation analysis between imaging and pathology. Imaging studies revealed a honeycomb-like multinodular cystic mass with poor contrast enhancement and an irregular contour. In conclusion, mucinous carcinoma of the pancreas can present as a multinodular cystic mass with a honeycomb-like structure. A key feature distinguishing it from serous cystadenoma is poor contrast enhancement, which might be accompanied by an irregular contour.
