Managing Obstetric Anesthesia During Wartime: Strategic Lessons From the June 2025 Israeli Hospital Response
Br J Anaesth. 2026: 136(1):466–468. doi: 10.1016/j.bja.2025.10.028 In June 2025, a sudden escalation of regional conflict exposed Israeli civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, to large-scale ballistic missile attacks. This situation required immediate, adaptive responses from health care systems to ensure patient and staff safety while maintaining essential services. Drawing from their experience at a major tertiary care center in Tel Aviv, the authors describe how obstetric anesthesia services were reorganized during this crisis and outline key lessons for disaster preparedness in similar settings.
