Energetic Stability and Structural Admissibility in Granular Systems: Dynamic Evolution Toward Collective Hydro-Mechanical Transition

This preprint develops the dynamic evolutionary component of a broader energetic configurational framework for granular systems. The work examines how externally supplied mechanical energy progressively activates hydro-mechanically weakened metastable structures and drives coupled configurational evolution toward collective transition and liquefaction onset in saturated granular systems. Within the proposed framework, instability emerges through coupled interaction between: • cumulative energetic activation• progressive barrier weakening• hydro-mechanical redistribution• configurational accessibility amplification• cooperative rearrangement evolution• and propagating collective destabilization dynamics within an evolving non-convex energetic landscape. The manuscript focuses specifically on: • metastable admissible states• barrier-controlled rearrangements• hydro-mechanical coupling• cumulative destabilization• collective configurational transition• propagating destabilization fronts• dynamically activated marginal admissibility• and liquefaction onset as a collective transition process The proposed interpretation does not replace established engineering liquefaction procedures, but instead provides a physically grounded configurational interpretation of the collective hydro-mechanical transition dynamics underlying liquefaction onset in externally activated saturated granular systems. Abstract

This preprint develops the dynamic evolutionary component of a broader energetic configurational framework for granular systems. The work examines how externally supplied mechanical energy progressively activates hydro-mechanically weakened metastable structures and drives coupled configurational evolution toward collective transition and liquefaction onset in saturated granular systems. Within the proposed framework, instability emerges through coupled interaction between: • cumulative energetic activation• progressive barrier weakening• hydro-mechanical redistribution• configurational accessibility amplification• cooperative rearrangement evolution• and propagating collective destabilization dynamics within an evolving non-convex energetic landscape. The manuscript focuses specifically on: • metastable admissible states• barrier-controlled rearrangements• hydro-mechanical coupling• cumulative destabilization• collective configurational transition• propagating destabilization fronts• dynamically activated marginal admissibility• and liquefaction onset as a collective transition process The proposed interpretation does not replace established engineering liquefaction procedures, but instead provides a physically grounded configurational interpretation of the collective hydro-mechanical transition dynamics underlying liquefaction onset in externally activated saturated granular systems.
