The genome sequence of the Maple Prominent, Ptilodon cucullina (Denis & Schiffermuller, 1775) (Lepidoptera: Notodontidae)
<ns5:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual male <ns5:italic>Ptilodon cucullina</ns5:italic> (Maple Prominent; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Notodontidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 315.33 megabases and 316.73 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.79%) is scaffolded into 31 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.37 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 10 320 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns5:p>
