The genome sequence of the Red gurnard,Chelidonichthys cuculus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Perciformes: Triglidae)
<ns3:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual <ns3:italic>Chelidonichthys cuculus</ns3:italic> (Red gurnard, Chordata; Actinopteri; Perciformes; Triglidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 666.05 megabases and 652.16 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (96.15%) is scaffolded into 24 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 16.51 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns3:p>
