Correction for Zhang et al., Conserved use of tetraspanin CD9 as an entry receptor by rhabdoviruses spanning multiple genera

The authors note that Fig. 5 appeared incorrectly. The authors explain that, "in the original publication, the "Merge" panel corresponding to the Nystatin treatment group in Fig. 5B (which illustrates the immunofluorescence analysis of VHSV entry in inhibitor-treated LJB cells) was inadvertently provided with an incorrect image during final figure assembly.Specifically, the image displayed in the Nystatin "Merge" column did not accurately represent the overlap of the LjCD9 (red) and VHSV-G (green) channels for that specific experimental condition."The authors confirm that "all underlying quantitative data, including the RT-qPCR analysis of VHSV G mRNA levels under Nystatin treatment shown in Fig. 5C , are correct and fully support the study's findings. The correction of this image does not alter the scientific conclusions of the paper: that VHSV entry relies on clathrin-mediated (CME) and caveolae-mediated endocytosis (CavME) pathways, and that LjCD9 facilitates this process.By evaluating the figure holistically, the reader can still verify the core finding that LjCD9 plays a crucial role in facilitating VHSV entry via both CME and CavME pathways, as the error is localized to a single visual panel and does not affect the underlying data analysis."The corrected figure and its legend appear below. The online version has been corrected.Additionally, the authors note that the legend for SI Appendix , Fig. S7 appeared incorrectly. The authors explain that the sentence "(A ) Cytopathic effects and fluorescence images of different fish cells (EPC, FHM, and LJB) infected with pseudotyped-VSV (GFP) for 24 h" should instead appear as "(A ) Cytopathic effects and fluorescence images from distinct fields of different fish cells (EPC, FHM, and LJB) infected with pseudotyped-VSV (GFP) for 24 h."The SI Appendix has been corrected online.
