Hydra-Flux: Operational Addendum Variant B (Layered / Stratified Systems) in High-Seismicity Environments

This addendum extends the Hydra‑Flux Master Compendium to address Archetype B (layered/stratified sands) in high‑seismicity environments (active subduction‑zone envelopes). Operations in these settings are constrained by two coupled risks: (1) poor hydraulic conformance due to bypass through high‑permeability streaks, and (2) geomechanical instability under cyclic loading, including liquefaction risk in unconsolidated, water‑saturated sands. Core disclosure (prior art; TRL 2; conceptual only): [HYPOTHESIS] Dual‑function use of a foam-based T2 (Conformance) module for (i) mobility control in thief zones and (ii) geomechanical damping via increased pore‑fluid compressibility, intended to reduce cyclic pore‑pressure build‑up associated with liquefaction. [OPTION/HYPOTHESIS] Placement via a multi‑lateral (“fishbone”) architecture to enable zonal control and targeted near‑wellbore treatment (“resilience halo”). Monitoring-driven STOP/RETREAT/ISOLATE logic and a post‑seismic integrity check concept (pressure transients + DAS/DTS; ERT where feasible). This document proposes a falsifiable validation roadmap; it is not a literature review and includes no laboratory or field validation. Abstract
