A Phenomenological Prediction for Small Ringdown Deviations in High-Spin Black Hole Merger Remnants

This paper proposes a narrow phenomenological prediction involving small downward deviations from exact Kerr ringdown frequencies in rapidly spinning black hole merger remnants. The proposed effect is motivated by a continuity-based interpretation of compact gravitational structure in which exact singular endpoints are treated as asymptotic mathematical limits rather than physically instantiated states. A benchmark fractional deviation near Δf/f_GR ~ -10^-3 is proposed as a potentially testable target for next-generation gravitational-wave observatories.

Abstract

This paper proposes a narrow phenomenological prediction involving small downward deviations from exact Kerr ringdown frequencies in rapidly spinning black hole merger remnants. The proposed effect is motivated by a continuity-based interpretation of compact gravitational structure in which exact singular endpoints are treated as asymptotic mathematical limits rather than physically instantiated states. A benchmark fractional deviation near Δf/f_GR ~ -10^-3 is proposed as a potentially testable target for next-generation gravitational-wave observatories.
