Kan-Li Geometry as a Cross-Scale Consciousness Metric: A Unified Framework from Allosteric Proteins to EEG Sleep Staging
Version 3.0 — Corrected & Empirically Validated Correction from v2.0: The HCP connectome CI values (Meditation=0.093, Wakefulness=0.090, Deep sleep=0.082, Propofol=0.067) were derived from literature-based FC modulation rules, not from empirical multi-state fMRI data. These values have been removed. Section 3.4 now reports only the real HCP resting-state FC and a pre-registered prediction. We propose that Kan-Li co-activation — simultaneous engagement of energy-accumulation (Kan/node_1) and energy-release (Li/node_9) nodes — constitutes a scale-invariant geometric signature of consciousness integration. Three empirically validated lines of evidence: Molecular (n=569, AlloBench): ZT_potential ranks #1 RF importance (0.120), AUC=0.913, d=−0.894, p<0.001 EEG — Meditation (n=50): HT-αSI, d=1.51, p=3×10⁻¹⁴ EEG — Sleep Staging (n=40, 2,127 epochs, Sleep-EDF Cassette, PhysioNet): W>N1>REM>N2>N3; REM vs N3: d=+2.65, p=3.2×10⁻⁵; N1 vs N2: d=+1.69, p=1.3×10⁻⁴ Pre-registered prediction (not yet empirical): Propofol fMRI (OpenNeuro ds003645, n=18) — Propofol ZT_pot > Wakefulness ZT_pot predicted. Formula: HT-αSI = |P_Kan − P_Li| + 0.5×|P_Zhen − P_Dui| − P_Ctr
