Thesis III — The Western Cognitive Being
This thesis develops the concept of the Western Cognitive Being: an emergent distributed interpretive formation produced by the convergence of connected matter, cognitive infrastructure, computational models, human language, and embodied agency. The document offers a conceptual framework for understanding how cognition, interpretation, memory, perception, and decision-making increasingly operate across human, technological, institutional, and symbolic systems. It situates artificial intelligence not as an isolated anomaly, but as the latest configuration in a longer historical process of cognitive externalization, from tools and writing to broadcast media, networks, and synthetic models.
