Gauge boson polarization correlations in the electron-positron annihilation process
The Standard Model of elementary particles and their interactions has achieved great success in the past decades. The discovery of Higgs boson in 2012 ushered a new era of precise measurements in particle physics. Because of low noise background and uncertainties, the electron-positron annihilation process can be a good candidate for the precise test of the Standard Model. Future electron-positron colliders can provide high luminosities for precise measurements of the Standard Model, including properties of the Higgs boson, gauge bosons (Z 0 and W ± bosons) and the top quark, etc. To meet the requirements of precise measurements, in this paper, we present new opportunities by introducing polarization correlations at the future electron-positron collider energy scale. Polarization itself and its measurable effects have been investigated widely, but polarization correlations have attracted less attention in the past. Polarization correlations depend on not only kinematic variables but also particle masses and coupling constants. They can therefore be taken as probes for precise measurements. For completeness, we calculate both the longitudinal and transverse polarization correlations in this paper.
