Analysis of FHD Flow and Advanced Thermal Management in Rotating Disk Mechanisms Under Radiative Heat Source Interactions Using an SOR–ANN Hybrid Scheme

ABSTRACT Viscosity plays a fundamental role in regulating momentum transfer and energy transport in ferrohydromagnetic (FHD) fluids system, where the alignment of nanoparticles under external magnetic field induces field‐modulated rheological mechanism. In light of the above observations, the objective of the current study is to examines the FHD boundary layer behavior of electrically non‐conducting magnetic fluid past a radially stretchable rotating disk which is embedded in a porous medium. The thermal flow behavior is influenced by the synergistic effects of non‐linear thermal radiation and non‐uniform heat source/sink. The steady, incompressible, axi‐symmetric, three‐dimensional mathematical model of governing non‐linear partial differential equations are reformulated as a system of coupled non‐linear ordinary differential equations by using appropriate similarity transformations. The resultant system of transport equations is discretized through forward and central finite difference approximations and then handled iteratively by applying successive over relaxation technique. It is observed that the radial velocity field exhibits dual behavior against magnetic field dependent viscosity parameter. The temperature field manifested an enhancement in the boundary layer region for temperature ratio parameter and non‐uniform heat source/sink parameter. A feed‐forward multilayer neural network based on backpropagation algorithm of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) is deployed on shear stresses, and Nusselt number for a comprehensive assessment between the ANNs predicted values and the actual data against influential parameters. The findings suggest that ANN indicates significant accuracy over the range of physical parameters so that the prediction errors continuously stay within the range of or less which reveals the ANN potential to replicate the momentum and thermal transport mechanism.
