THERAPEUTIC POTENTIAL OF CURCUMA LONGA: A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW
The review addresses the various therapeutic uses of curcumin, the active component of Curcuma longa, or turmeric. The leaves have potent antifungal properties against human pathogenic fungus, while rhizome juice and powder are used to treat skin issues because of their anti-parasitic properties. Curcumin is well known for its anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, anti-mutagenic, and antioxidant properties that guard against UV-induced skin damage. Additionally, new studies have highlighted the potential of turmeric against cardiovascular and neurological diseases.
