Reduction of allergenic mite populations in dog and cat sleeping areas using an attractive textile trap
This laboratory study evaluates an attractive removable textile trap designed to collect allergenic mites from supports simulating dog and cat sleeping areas. The experiments included Dermatophagoides spp. and Tyrophagus putrescentiae, using both repeated-use and one-use laboratory models. Under the tested conditions, the textile treated with the attractive formulation collected more mites than water-treated or dry textile controls. These results support the technical relevance of an attractive removable textile as a practical approach for reducing mite presence in animal sleeping environments under controlled laboratory conditions
