A STUDY ON IMPACT OF TRANSPORTATION AND LOGISTICS RISK ON EXPORT PERFORMANCE IN THE FLORAL INDUSTRY

Transportation is really important for getting products to countries especially for things that can break easily or go bad quickly like flowers and perfumes.. It is also the part that can go wrong the most because many things can happen to stop it from working properly and affect how well everything runs. This study looks at how problems with transportation affect how well products get to countries and it pays special attention to things like when products do not get to where they need to be on time when products get damaged, when the weather or environment is bad when ports are too busy and when there are mistakes with paperwork. The people doing this research looked at information that already exists, like reports from logistics companies, studies of the industry and records of products being exported. What they found out is that most of the problems 71.5% happen when products are actually being moved around especially when they are being transported inside the country and when they are being handled at ports. They saw that when products do not get to where they need to be on time it happens a lot and is a problem while products getting damaged and bad environmental conditions are also big problems, for transportation. The study found that when the risk levels are high the supply chain performance is low. This means that things like how we deliver products and the quality of these products are affected when there are a lot of risks. The study also shows that if something goes wrong at the start of the supply chain it can cause problems all the way down the line. This is like a domino effect where one thing falling over makes all the other things fall over too. The study says that to deal with risks we need to have plans, in place like using new technology working together better and planning transport in a smarter way. If we do these things we can make our export performance better. Make sure our supply chain can handle problems. We need to do this to make our supply chain strong and able to withstand risks so our supply chain is resilient.
