METHOD DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION FOR SIMULTANEOUS ESTIMATION OF MONTELUKAST AND DESLORATADINE IN PHARMACUETICAL DOSAGE FORM BY UV AND UPLC METHOD

A methodical and accurate strategy has been developed and validated for the simultaneous assessment of Montelukast and Desloratadine in pharmaceutical dosage form using UV Spectrophotometry. A technique for correcting absorbance with maximal wavelengths of 222 and 220 nm forms the basis of the approach. The experimental procedure selected a solvent of 0.1N HCL In doses ranging from 10 to 50 mcg/ml, both medications comply with Beer's law. R2 = 0.9944 and R2 = 0.999, respectively, were found to be the correlation coefficients for desloratadine and montelukast. With outstanding recovery rates of 88-103% and 99-104%, respectively, there were reports of 0.78 mcg/ml, 3.2 mcg/ml, and 0.89 mcg/ml for the limits of quantitation and detection for desloratadine and montelukast, respectively. The determination of desloratadine and montelukast in tablet dosage forms is presented using a straightforward and selective LC approach. On a Waters Thermoscientific C18 (50 mm x 2.1 mm ID) 1.8µm, chromatographic separation was accomplished using a mobile phase that was 55 liters of a mixed Phosphate Buffer pH 3.5: Acetonitrile (70:30) %v/v with a 260 nm detection. The recommended techniques yielded drug amounts that were in good agreement with the label claim, with linearity being seen in the range of 62.5-188 µg/ml for Montelukast (r2 = 0.999) and 50-150 µg/ml for desloratadine (r2 = 0.999). The aforementioned experimental parameters and results led to the conclusion that this newly developed method for the simultaneous estimation of desloratadine and montelukast was simple, precise, accurate, and had a high resolution. Its shorter retention time also made the approach that is more widely accepted, economical, and useful successfully for routine analysis in research institutions, approved testing laboratories studies, and quality control departments in meant industries in the near future.
