Synthesis and evaluation of novel sulfonamido-oxine (Sox-) substituted lysine derivatives
Functional peptides containing strongly coordinating sites for metal ions in combination with fluorescent properties represent valuable tools for diverse applications most notably as activity sensors for protein kinases and phosphatases or more generally for the complexation of diverse metal ions. Herein, the synthesis and photophysical characterization of two novel sulfonamido-oxine (Sox) substituted lysines is described. Due to their straightforward availability, applicability in solid phase peptide synthesis and useful zinc(II) binding properties of the chelating unit, these compounds are now available for a broad range of applications.
