End-to-End Workflow for 3D Digitization of Biological Specimens Using scAnt and Photogrammetry
This document describes a complete workflow for the 3D digitization of biological specimens using the open-source scAnt scanner and photogrammetric reconstruction in Agisoft Metashape. The guide covers scanner setup, image acquisition, focus stacking, mask generation, post-processing, and 3D reconstruction workflows, including practical recommendations and limitations identified during use. Although primarily designed for arthropods and medium-sized biological specimens, the workflow may be adapted to a wide variety of small objects requiring high-quality 3D digitization.
