First person – Riccardo Babic, Leon Lucya and Christoph Reiter

First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Riccardo Babic, Leon Lucya and Christoph Reiter are co-first authors on ‘ A ULK1–MTFR1L feedback loop links mitochondrial fission, mitophagy and apoptosis’, published in JCS. Riccardo is a PhD student, and Leon and Christoph are MD students, in the lab of Claudine Kraft at the Institute for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Freiburg, Germany where they investigate mitochondrial fission and its interaction with autophagy machinery.
